Welcome to Maritime Optima’s 1st monthly newsletter! We hope you will subscribe and follow our progress 🚢
Our goal is to help maritime professionals unlock their digital potential by providing intelligent and easy-to-use software based on industry knowledge, AI, big data, and algorithms.
We offer two products; ShipAtlas, the best app for individuals and consumers interested in following ships, and ShipIntel, a flexible and affordable team software for companies involved in maritime business.
In this newsletter we'll share news about our company, new feature launches, user feedback and stories, our growing team, and of course we will also share the failures and challenges we face along the way 🌟

Let's dig in 🤩
January recap ❄️
📈 Significant increase in users
Apart from celebrating a 61% increase (!!) of registered users in January compared to last month, we could also see a significant increase of users in the Chartering user group. Almost 45% of our new users in January (compared to 30% in December) identifies themselves as shipowners, ship & cargo operators or shipbrokers. We take this as a sign that our new Chartering toolkit has awakened "some" interest in our community and is wanted in the maritime industry. We can't wait to see how this progresses in the coming months!
👍 Product updates
During the last couple of months we have further developed and improved the sea route calculator, and also expanded our Chartering (Pre-fix) toolkit substantially, which it is now officially launched as a full package.
The Chartering (Pre-fix) toolkit lets you enhance your efficiency with Cargo Email AI - get quoted cargoes auto parsed into your private structured cargo list, categorized by type (market, private, COA) and status (available, in negotiations, fixed on subs, fixed and failed, fully fixed). Save valuable time by setting up fleet lists, and save hours running pre-voyage calculations and comparing TCE's for a combination of vessels and cargoes. Stay agile by adding market vessels on the go and comparing their TCE to your existing fleet.

✈️ We sent our CEO to Singapore
ShipIntel is not geographically confined, allowing users to connect to the software from any part of the globe and from any type of device... as long as you have service. Kristin Omholt-Jensen got to test this firsthand when she went to Singapore to present our products and services to multiple stakeholders. You can read her postcard here.
🥳 A new face
In the second week of January we welcomed José Manuel Báez Soriano to the team. He actually moved all the way to Oslo from Madrid to join us! He is already well into his role as a frontend developer, and has even managed to take a course in cross-country skiing in his short time being an Oslo citizen (he only fell twice, according to himself).
In February we are welcoming 3 more people to the team, we look forward to introducing them to you!
