October is a dark month in Norway, but for Maritime Optima it has been a month with global expansions and hiring of new colleagues. We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues Arne M. Bartnes, Christina Madamadiotou and Jonas Pettersson Arne is situated in Singapore and is responsible for marketing, sales and customer success in the Far East, and recruiting a local team in Singapore. Christina has the same responsibility for South Europe and Middle East. Jonas will strengthen our backend team, and together with the tech team he will make sure we will reach our ambition product development goals.

This month we have been working with some really cool and useful features as the destination prediction model and AIS based routing. We continuously working to improve our inhouse built data pipeline where we also enrich the processed AIS data with other public data. Our cooperation with Microsoft let the customer's integrating AIS, cutting-edge ML, generative AI & industry know-how to their company's data to maximize the value of company data. ShipIntel offers the shipping industry a complete new working environment seamlessly integrated with Microsoft 365.

We are a small, dedicated team focused on delivering product value in each sprint, while our marketing and sales teams concentrate on their KPIs.
It’s easy to get bogged down in the details or overly focus on one aspect when building holistic software. So in November, we organized a workshop that started with an overview of different customer types. We then divided employees into groups, provided them with questions to answer, and asked them to present their findings and experiences in a plenary session.
The workshop allowed us to step back and view the big picture—how everything connects and works together, and the goal of this workshop was to encourage everyone to take on more responsibility in developing outstanding software for the maritime industry 🙌 .. and we think this was a success and we plan to repeat this type of workshop every quarter.
❓What are the most popular ShipIntel Essentials features?
Live and historical AIS data for all type of vessels. Global coverage (raw data from; satellites, terrestrial, and dynamic). Find whether they are in ballast or laden condition, which cargo they are carrying, Live speed and average speed for a leg etc.
