Meet Mikus - Customer Success Manager
Hi Mikus, and welcome to Maritime Optima! Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Originally I come from Latvia and about 1.5 years ago I moved to Norway to complete my studies and pursue a career in the shipping industry. Overall, I describe myself as a social butterfly. In the meantime I am very keen on exploring different cultures, meeting new people, and taking on various challenges.
Tell us a little bit about your background? Your education? What are your interests? What have you been doing before you joined Maritime Optima?
I am a recent graduate from BI Norwegian Business School and Riga Business School where I have obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with specialization in Shipping Management. My main interests revolve around: cultures and countries, shipping industry, psychology, motorsports, foosball and various physical activities. Before I joined the Maritime Optima team, I was a Customer Success Agent and Project Coordinator at The Ocean Opportunity Lab.
What will be your responsibilities in Maritime Optima?
In Maritime Optima I will be responsible for our customer happiness, satisfaction and experience.

The Maritime Optima team consists of dedicated and knowledgeable people who are passionate about maritime industry, big data and are willing to go that extra mile to ensure that ShipAtlas and ShipIntel are the best available products on the market even when there are big storms in the oceans.
What do you think a tech start-up needs to do or have in order to be a successful company?
I believe that a tech start-up can become successful by acquiring knowledgeable people who believe in what they do and strive for the best regardless of the shortcomings.
