Chief Marketing Officer

Do you want to play a crucial role in driving the growth of our products? We are looking for an experienced and proactive Chief Marketing Officer to join our fast-growing maritime tech company.

We are growing, and today we are a team with 17 full-time employees and 2 part-time employees with different backgrounds, skills, and knowledge. We have a solid knowledge and understanding of the shipping industry and a reliable maritime network.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer to build, lead and grow a global marketing team. We are looking for someone with experience from companies working with global product tech (SaaS) with the will and ability to build, lead, and grow an international marketing team.

You need to have knowledge of or experience from shipping. 

About Maritime Optima

Maritime Optima AS was founded in May 2019. Today, we are privately funded by several tech entrepreneurs and shipping executives. We were awarded the Copernicus price and the Microsoft Startup program in 2019-2021. In 2023, we became a part of the Microsoft ISV Success Program.

Our company is located in modern offices in Vika Atrium in Oslo, but we want to build and grow a marketing team outside Norway. So in 2024, we intend to have presence in London and Singapore, as well as Oslo, so it is fine with us if you are located in any of these places.

We are working closely with the users while developing the products we offer. Today, we develop and distribute two SaaS products:

ShipIntel: A flexible and affordable team software for any company involved in maritime business. With ShipIntel our customers can make better decisions today, with tomorrow's maritime solution.

ShipIntel’s first modules were launched in October 2022 as MVP. In October 2023, we officially launched the modular ShipIntel, and ShipIntel is growing very quickly. ShipIntel is available on the web and as a part of the Microsoft Office 365 portfolio. ShipIntel is also available on mobile.

ShipAtlas: An application for individuals and consumers interested in following ships.
ShipAtlas was launched in August 2020 as a MVP product on the web, and in February 2022, we launched the mobile applications with different types of subscriptions. Users can download the application in the AppStore, Google Play Store, or register on the web. Today, ShipAtlas has more than 330,000 registered users.

We are looking for a person with great communication skills and the ability to motivate your team members. You have a high work capacity, are goal-driven and result-oriented and have the ability to deliver results. You are an initiator who sees opportunities, understand the marketing tools, are able to make plans and execute together with a team.


Your responsibilities

  • Your overall responsibility will be to drive revenue by increasing sales through marketing activities.
  • You will be responsible for making and overseeing the marketing and advertising strategy. You will also be responsible for planning and execution.
  • You will be responsible for developing a global structure of the marketing activities for recruiting and building such units in London, Singapore, and Oslo.
  • You will be responsible for making the marketing budgets and the results.
  • You will be responsible for establishing leadership and training/guidance of the marketing team.
  • You will be a part of the Management Group.
