We believe in knowledge driven maritime intelligence based on quality data.
So in Maritime Optima, we’re building a software product for the shipping industry, which aids them into making more informed choices. This is mainly done through a solid data foundation and with manual enrichment by users, which they can share with colleagues. By presenting the data in an intuitive manner and making it possible to “play” with it, we give our customers the ability to utilise their company’s collective knowledge.
Every second we collect AIS data from the global merchant fleet from more than 700 AIS satellites and terrestrial senders. We combine this with other types and sources of vessel data.
After we have collected the data we spend time and knowledge in data wrangling; cleaning and unifying messy and complex data sets for easy access and analysis, so you can get the most out of the data.
We also collect marine weather (wind, waves, currents and precipitation), tides, bunker prices and grades in different ports. We have created a sea route calculator and we track port activities from more than 5 000 ports.
In order to build great products, we need to build a great team ourselves! Our existing team has both solid domain knowledge and skilled developers, and we are looking for an experienced Data engineer that will strengthen our tech team.
We are always looking for skilled and ambitious people who are searching for an interdisciplinary, integrated competence environment that provides opportunities for creating something awesome.
So if you don't find your dream job advertised, you should send us an open application and introduce yourself.
We are always looking for good people to join our team!
