MSC Ishyka Struck by IRGC Drone at Berth in Bahrain

The Liberian-flagged container ship MSC Ishyka was struck by an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) drone on April 4 while moored at Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain.

The strike occurred hours before a 48-hour ultimatum issued by U.S. President Donald Trump to Iran was set to expire.

The IRGC claimed the vessel was struck and ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz. AIS data contradicted that account, confirming MSC Ishyka was at berth in Bahrain at the time of the attack.

MSC Ishyka sails under the Liberian flag and is operated by MSC, the world's largest container line. Vessel flag state and full damage assessment have not been publicly confirmed at time of publication. Crew status has not been reported.

Khalifa Bin Salman Port is Bahrain's primary commercial port and handles a significant volume of container traffic for the Gulf region.

Bahraini and U.S. authorities have not issued a formal statement at time of publication. Investigation into the extent of damage is ongoing.
