Kamsarmax Bulker Star Gwyneth Hit by Projectile Near Dubai

The dry bulk carrier Star Gwyneth was struck by an unknown projectile about 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai, UAE, according to a UKMTO incident advisory.

The crew reported the impact but confirmed that all personnel are safe, and authorities said no environmental damage has been detected.

Vanguard Tech reported that bulker involved was the Marshall Islands-flagged vessel, Star Gwyneth. The vessel was built in 2006, has a deadweight of 82,790 tonnes and measures 228 meters in length. The ship is part of the fleet of New York-listed Greek shipowner Star Bulk.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
