According to reports from the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the first of the new attacks occurred at 01:30 UTC when a merchant vessel, thought to be the Blue Lagoon I, a Panama-flagged tanker / Suezmax, based on media reports, reported an incident approximately 70 nautical miles northwest of Saleef, Yemen. The Master of the vessel reported that the vessel was struck by two unidentified projectiles, followed by a third explosion in close proximity. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the vessel is continuing its voyage to the next port of call.
The second attack took place nearby, with UKMTO receiving a report at 06:30 UTC of an incident 58 nautical miles west of Hodeidah, Yemen. In this case, the vessel was hit by an Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS). Again, no casualties were reported, and the ship is proceeding to its next destination.
These incidents occurred as the Sounion remains on fire after an attack on August 21st in the same area, and has been on fire since August 23rd after Houthi forces boarded the vessel and planted explosives across its deck. You can read more about the attack here.
