Russian Shahed-type loitering munitions struck three commercial vessels inbound for ports in Ukraine's Odesa region on the night of May 18, as part of a strike package comprising 524 drones and 22 missiles across multiple Ukrainian targets.
The Ukrainian Navy confirmed one of the vessels struck was the Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier KSL Deyang (53,451 DWT), owned and crewed by Chinese nationals. The vessel sustained a scorch mark on its accommodation block and a small fire, which the crew extinguished without outside assistance. No injuries were reported and KSL Deyang continued to its destination.
