Russian Drone Strike Damages Vessel and Port Infrastructure at Izmail, Ukraine

Russian drones struck port infrastructure at Izmail overnight on April 13–14, damaging a Panama-flagged civilian vessel, a berth, a barge, port equipment, and a service station building. Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba confirmed multiple hits on the port territory.

A fire broke out at one of the strike sites and was quickly extinguished. No fatalities or injuries were reported.

The Panama-flagged vessel's identity, flag state operator, and cargo status have not been publicly disclosed. The extent of structural damage to the berth and port equipment is under assessment.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority confirmed the port continued to operate following the strike. Izmail, located on the Danube River near the Romanian border, serves as a key transit point for Ukrainian grain and agricultural exports.

Investigation into the full extent of damage is ongoing.
