LNG Carrier Al Mayeda Hit in Accommodation Block off Ras Laffan, Fire Reported

The LNG carrier Al Mayeda (IMO 9397298), operated by Nakilat, was struck by a projectile at about 1800 UTC on October 30, roughly 40 nautical miles south of Laval Island near Ras Laffan, Qatar. The projectile hit the accommodation block and caused a fire. The crew was reportedly safe.

The vessel was carrying LNG from Ras Laffan to Pakistan.
