Cape Falcon refloated after nearly a week aground off Australia.

The Capesize bulker Cape Falcon was refloated on September 24 after remaining aground for nearly a week, approximately six nautical miles off Gladstone, Australia. The fully laden vessel grounded while attempting to anchor for bunkering on September 18. Several unsuccessful refloating attempts were made before the vessel came free on the morning high tide.

Following refloating, the vessel was ordered to anchor pending investigation and was detained by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. No injuries or pollution have been reported.
